Statement of Belief
We believe in the Bible as the inspired Word of God and the supreme authority in all matters of faith and practice.
2 Tim 3:16-17, Rom 15:4, James 1:22
We believe that there is only one living and true God, eternally existent in three persons; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 28:19, 2 Cor 13:14
We believe in God the Father, infinite, personal, perfect, wise, all powerful and all loving; that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.
Matt 6:9, Rom 11:33-36, Ps 138:5-6, Matt 7:11, Isa 55:6-7
We believe in Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh, in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings. We believe in His atoning death on the cross for the sins of the world, in His bodily resurrection, His ascension into heaven, and His personal and visible return to Earth at His second coming.
John 1:14-18, Luke 1:26-38, Heb 4:15, Rom 5:8, 1 Cor 15:1-8, Eph 1:20-23, 1 Thess 4:14-16
We believe in the person and divinity of the Holy Spirit; that He convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment and that He transforms, sanctifies, and empowers for ministry all who believe in Christ. We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer and that He is an abiding helper, teacher and guide. We believe in the active ministry of the Holy Spirit today and in the exercise of all biblical gifts of the Spirit.
John 15:26, John16:8, Titus 3:5-6, Acts 1:8, Rom 8:9, Eph 1:13-14, John 14:16, 1 Cor 12:4-11
We believe that all mankind are sinners by nature and choice and are therefore under condemnation, that God has made provision for our sin through the physical death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and that salvation is only possible through faith in Christ alone.
Rom 3:23, Rom 6:23, John 14:6, Acts 4:12, Rom 1:17
We believe in the universal church as a living spiritual body of which Christ is the Head and all followers of Christ are members.
1 Cor 12:12-13, Eph 2:19-22
We believe in the second coming of Jesus and the consummation (complete establishment) of His Kingdom, the physical resurrection of the body, the final judgment, and the eternal blessedness of the righteous (those who have put their trust in Christ) and the eternal punishment of the wicked.
Matt 24:27-44, Acts 1:11, 1 Cor 15:20-24, Rev 20:11-15, Rev 21:1-8
We believe that Jesus committed two ordinances to the Church; believers baptism (full immersion in water being the only scriptural form of baptism), and the Lord’s Supper (communion) which is open to all who believe.
Matt 28:19, Acts 2:38, Luke 22:14-20, 1 Cor 11:23-31
We believe that Jesus is the only intermediary between God and man and that all who follow and serve Him are able to do so directly and personally without the need of others to represent them (i.e. this is known as the priesthood of believers) This in no way negates the value of community and the importance of godly leadership but instead affirms the necessity of a personal relationship with Christ in the life of every believer.
John 14:6, 1 Tim 2:5-6, Heb 4:14-16
We believe in the laying on of hands for empowering of the Holy Spirit, for the receiving of spiritual gifts, for healing, and for the setting apart of all who serve in the ministry and calling of the Church.
Matt 8:3, Mark 16:18b, Acts 13:3, 1 Tim 4:14, Heb 6:2
